The Ely Elementary School student had been exposed to the Swine Flu after visiting family in Mexico. The child was in school for an entire week before he started exhibiting flu like symptoms. The boy was tested on Friday, April 24th and the illness was confirmed late Saturday night. Ely Elementary School will be closed through Friday, May 1st while the building undergoes a thorough cleaning.In an effort to assist local residents with concerns about Influenza A H1N1 (previously referred to as Swine Flu), the Portage County Health Department will open a public information line beginning at noon on Thursday.
