Back to topLocal pump manufacturer Verder Pumps South Africa (VPSA) sold its fortieth Verderflex 125 pump in May this year, which makes it the leader in Verderflex 125 pump sales in the Verder group worldwide, VPSA marketing manager Kasha Wos says.The Verderflex 125, which forms part of VPSA's Verderflex industrial hose pump range, is known as the world's largest peristaltic hose pump and is already popular in the Southern African mining industry.The latest order for two Verder flex 125s was received from engineering company DRA Mineral Projects, and will be used as thickener underflow pumps at Pilanesberg Platinum Mines.Emerging platinum mining company Platmin began building its Pilanesberg mine in October 2007, and has completed about 30% of the project thus far, while mining started in March this year.For mining houses which are building bigger plants to accommodate higher production, the Verderflex 125 pumps are ideal for handling flow rates of up to 55 000 /h, Wos states.She adds that the second largest pump in the range, the Verderflex 100, reaches a maximum capacity of 35 000 /h."With a further six Verderflex 125s going to order, VPSA is getting closer to the fiftieth pump sold before the end of 2008," she says.Projects where Verderflex pumps are being used include the R1,35 billion Mototolo joint venture, in the Steelpoort area, in Mpumalanga.Information contained on this page is provided by an independent third party content provider.
