Balancing is not about making things identical or the same, it about performance more than anything else. Can we equalize the SPM, KD, and all those other nonsense stats among all empires. Which is why SOE nerfs things when one faction weapons outperforms other faction equivalents. Performance needs to be equalized for balance, that doesn mean we can have asymmetry and interesting faction traits, as long as those traits are roughly equal in terms of overall performance.
