Even though a 3/0 copper wire will conduct the same amount of electricity no matter what the insulation is there are still major differences when comparing THHN 3/0 wire to welding cable 3/0. There are differences in the amount of flexibility, temperature and application use that all determine why the cable can or cannot be used in certain conditions.
